A page for those wishing to make a financial contribution to the future of the festival -
and
a message from joint treasurer
A
Chairde,
This
year at the beginning of a new century we celebrate the eight anniversary of the
Patrick O’Keeffe Traditional Music Festival.
Few
could have foreseen the festival’s success back in 1993. Each new year the
committee endeavours to introduce extra events in order to broaden the appeal of
the festival as well as trying to ensure as much as possible the continued
celebration of the Sliabh Luachra tradition of music, song, dance and poetry.
The
initial budget for the festival in 1993 was £6,000.00. this has grown however
to £19,000.00 in 1999. We could not have succeeded without the continued loyal
support of the local Castleisland community. Due to the success of the event
however and the ever increasing running cost, we have to look further afield to
raise additional funds.
It
is in the light of the above and to ensure the continued growth of the Patrick
O’Keeffe Traditional Music festival that we have decided to establish a
Patronage Fund.
We
invite people or companies wishing to be associated with an event of this nature
to make an annual contribution of £50.00 towards the festival.
Each
patron’s name is subsequently included in all Patrick O’Keeffe
publications. Free access for two people to any or all of the many events
happening on the weekend of the festival or activities throughout the year is
afforded to all patrons.
Patrons
are also kept fully informed on all aspects of the festival, and are invited to
make suggestions on how the festival generally or any specific event may be
further enhanced .
